The Past Pupils’ Association (PPA) of the Methodist Central College (MCC), Batticaloa, is the alumnus entity of the school. The MCC, Batticaloa was founded in 1814, by the Methodist missionary, Rev. William Ault, and is the first missionary school in Sri Lanka. In 2014, the school celebrated its 200 years of educational excellence.
PPA has been actively contributing to the progress of the school, in terms of enhancing the delivery of the educational and extracurricular activities, also engaging in setting-up the school to be recognised as a pinnacle of education in the region. The PPA was revitalised with a new generation of Past Pupils’ joined for the 200 th anniversary celebrations. Also, the branches of Past Pupils’ Associations were established in other countries (e.g. United Kingdom, and North America) as well.
The present PPA committee elected for the years 2021-2023, is working to implement more realistic short-term and inspired long-term projects, within the PPA and MCC, to create the both entities, a better place for social engagement and community service.
